Obituary of Perry Daniel Smelser

Perry Daniel Smelser, age 62, of Wytheville, passed away Wednesday, June 5, 2019. He was the son of the late Homer Daniel & Nellie Webb Smelser. Perry was a member of the Galilee Christian Church and a lifelong member of the Big Walker Game and Fish Club. He was preceded in death by a brother, Danny Clay Smelser; brothers-in-law, Stuart (Tiny) Yonce and Virgil Yonce. He is survived by his wife, Frances Yonce Smelser of Wytheville; sister & brother-in-law, Michelle & Craig Groseclose of Cripple Creek; brother, Casey Smelser of Wytheville; brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law, Emmett & Ethel Yonce of Daleville, Howard & Patsy Yonce of New York, Eddie & Frankie Yonce of Cripple Creek, Rufus & Celerina Yonce of Alaska, Jerry & Judy Yonce of Wytheville, Carl & Doris Yonce of Wytheville, Mabel Cline of Speedwell, Aileen & Ted Brown of Vinton, Darlene Garland & Larry Davis of Wytheville and Pat Yonce of Wytheville. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

A memorial service will be held 4 PM, Sunday, June 9, 2019 at Grubb Funeral Home Chapel conducted by The Reverend Preston Sartelle and Pastor Judy Yonce. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2 PM until service time.
