Obituary of Claude Shafter Spraker, Jr.

Claude Shafter “Bud” Spraker, Jr., age 85, of Wytheville, passed away Saturday, July 23, 2016 at Wythe County Community Hospital. He was born August 31, 1930 in Wythe County and was the son of the late Claude S., Sr. and Elizabeth Davis Spraker. Bud retired from American Screw Company with 24 years of service. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Norris Spraker, Eddie Spraker, Tommy Spraker; one sister, Louise Steele, and survived by his wife of 60 years, Margaret Brown Spraker of Wytheville; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jimmy & Eleanor Brown of Wytheville; best friends, Philip “Babe” Havens of Wytheville, H.L. Smith of Wytheville; several nieces and nephews also survive. A graveside service will be held at 11 A.M. Monday, July 25, 2016 at St. John’s Lutheran Church Cemetery, conducted by Pastor James H. Bangle. Grubb Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
