I am sorry that Dayne is gone.
I used to see him at the Sutherland Reunion at Mt. Pleasant Church. He and I are second cousins. Our great-grandparents are Milton and Jestin Sutherland.
I wish for his family and friends comfort at this time.

Mary, Connie and Mike - my sincere condolences on the loss of your father. He was a fine gentleman and had a kind and gentle spirit about him. You have put together a beautiful and moving tribute to his life, and obviously, you, your Mom, and your children were the lights of his life. Again, my condolences. Mary, Mike and Connie, we are so sad to hear about your Dad’s passing. We loved every time we were able to see Dayne and enjoyed great conversation. God certainly gained an angel with this gentleman. I used to always try to get in front of Dayne in the choir to sing as his beautiful tenor voice helped me try to stay on key. So talented and so giving. He is certainly going to be missed by many. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you right now as you mourn his passing.

Always a friendly and wonderful person to see. He came up to me one time and told me.he read all my sermons on Facebook. And started telling me about them! I had to tell him he remembered them better than me

This breaks my heart. I broke down in tears when I saw the news. So many of that generation gone. Many of the Kegley clan were friends with and fond of Dane and Jennie. My mom grew up with them and thought highly of both of them. When she died in 2018, Dane helped us get our arrangements done to have the service at the church we grew up going to and to get in touch with Pastor Joe. He came to the visitation and to the funeral service and it did our hearts good to see him there. Mom was so sad when Jennie got ill and died. He and Jennie were sweet people who always showed interest in our family and provided love and support to the church community. My heartfelt sympathy for your loss. May you find comfort and moments of joy in your memories...

Uncle Dayne was a caring man who would do anything for you. He visited my father regularly and brought Dad flowers from his garden. He also drove all the way to Christiansburg to bring me a suitcase I’d accidentally left when visiting Wytheville.
I’m sorry that I have a medical procedure scheduled on Tuesday, so I won’t be able to attend the service, but my thoughts will be with Uncle Dayne and his family.
