Obituary of Garnett Luther King

Garnett Luther King age 85, of Wytheville, passed away on January 3, 2021. He was born on December 20, 1935 in Wythe County to the late Haynes Thomas and Clara Mae Cline King. He was preceded in death by his wife Mary Kegley King; brother Haynes “June” Thomas King, Jr.; sister, Christine Kincer. He was a Retiree from the Radford Arsenal with perfect attendance. Survivors include his daughter, Michelle and Robert Govin; two sons and daughters-in-law, Wayne and Pam King; Darrin and Cindy King all of Wytheville; 7 grandchildren and spouses, Shawn King, Shane and Sarah King, Brandon King, Brenna King, Derek Govin, Haley and Joseph Morehead, Makenzie Govin; four great grandchildren, Payton Morehead, Hadley Morehead, Chase King and Madelyn King; sister, Lorene and Shug Houseman; several nieces and nephews; and his best buddy, Bruno. Funeral service will be held 11 A.M. Thursday, January 7, 2021 at the Grubb Funeral Home with Minister Steve Canup officiating. Interment will follow in the West End Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 to 8 P.M. at the Funeral Home .
