Obituary of Margaret Hayton Umberger

Margaret Hayton Umberger, age 91, of Wytheville passed away Tuesday, September 20, 2016. She was the daughter of the late Samuel & Minta Hancock Hayton. Margaret was preceded in death by her husband Barkley Crabtree “B.C.” Umberger. She is survived by her daughters & sons-in-law, Debra & Samuel Boyer of Rural Retreat, Amy & Larry Martin of Wytheville; sons & daughters-in-law, Sammy & Jackie Umberger, Danny & Jane Umberger all of Rural Retreat; sister-in-law, Aleen U. Niday of Bland, brother-in-law, Ned & Martha Umberger of Wytheville; 17 grandchildren, 49 great grandchildren, & 1 great-great grandchild also survive. Funeral service will be held at 2PM Sunday, September 25, 2016 at Mt. Mitchell United Methodist Church conducted by The Reverend Aubrey Whitlow, with interment to follow in the Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Grubb Funeral Home Saturday, September 24, 2016 from 6PM until 8PM. Grubb Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
