Obituary of Mary Elizabeth Miller Dillon

Mary Elizabeth Miller Dillon, 95, died in Wytheville, VA, on Sunday, 25 April 2021. Graveside service will be held at West End Cemetery on Saturday, 1 May 2021 at 2 p.m. Born in Wytheville on 24 Sep 1925, she was the youngest child of Arthur Lloyd Miller, Sr. and Mary Cassell Lindamood. She married Charles J. “C.J.” Dillon on 4 Jan 1945 at Ft. Worth, Texas. In 1943, she left Wytheville for Washington D.C., where she worked for the War Department. She worked at many jobs over her long life. She attended Wytheville Community College and graduated with a degree in Nursing at age 55. Her last job was as the Hostess at the Wohlfardt Haus Dinner Theatre. She was a former member of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution and United Daughters of the Confederacy. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her siblings, Dorothy Miller Irvin and Arthur Lloyd Miller, Jr., a granddaughter, Christine Felesky, and two nieces, Joan Irvin Plawin and Teresa Irvin. She is survived by her daughters, Sharon Dillon and Janie Dillon, both of Ft. Chiswell, a granddaughter, Elissa and Maurice Moore of Maryland, a grandson, Darren Junta of Florida, great grandchildren, David Moore of Maryland and Christine Junta of Florida, a great- great granddaughter Adalyn Moore of Maryland, niece Barbara D. Suthers, and nephews, Arty Miller, Larry Miller, Bruce Dillon, all of Wytheville and Eddie Dillon of Roanoke. A graveside service will be held 2P.M. Saturday, May 1, 2021 at West End Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family request donations to be made to the Lead Mines Rescue Squad, 1057 Fort Chiswell Rd, Max Meadows, VA 24360.
