My love and prayers go out to Brenda and Chandler. Hugh, or “Mr. Hopkins” as I knew him, had such a positive influence on my life. He saw potential in each and every student and worked to draw out strengths and build on those. I am forever thankful for the support and encouragement he gave me.

Hugh would be so touched by your comments. He was always so proud of his students and their accomplishments, especially in reading and math. In April, Chandler and I read Charlotte’s Web with him—one of his favorite books from first grade.

I just wanted to let you know that your family are in our prayers. I met Hugh years ago when we played basketball together in Marion. He was always positive no matter what we would talk about. I’m so sorry for your loss.
