Obituary of Christina Jones Cornett

Christina Jones Cornett of Speedwell, age 39 passed away Wednesday, October 12, 2016. She was the daughter of the late Stephen Michael “Hair Bear” Jones. Christina will be remembered as a good and caring person who loved art, music, and reading, but the biggest enjoyment was spending time with her much loved daughter Brooke who was always by her side. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Jim & Patsy Jones, Kenneth & Roberta Manuel and uncle, James “Spike” Jones. She is survived by her husband, Timothy Brian Cornett of Speedwell; daughter, Mackenzie Brooke Jones of Speedwell; mother, Jeannette Manuel Jones of Speedwell; step daughters and spouse, Lauren & Josh Stegall of Stuart, Chelsea Cornett of Max Meadows; special aunts and uncles, Pat & Doug Hudson of Max Meadows, Debbie Manuel of Speedwell, John & Susie Manuel of Rural Retreat, Dennis & Lee Manuel of Wytheville, Linda Jones of Wytheville; father-in-law, Curtis and Nancy Cornett of Flat Ridge, Judy Alford & Steve of Max Meadows; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Danny Cornett of Christiansburg, Darlene & Oral Griffey of Marion, Donna & David Gibson of Woodlawn, step grandchildren, Lilly, Charlie, Isiah, and Eli; many loving cousins also survive. A memorial service will be held 6 PM Monday, October 17, 2016 at Grubb Funeral Home Chapel conducted by the Reverend Derek Cowan. The family will receive friends Monday from 4PM until service.
