Obituary of Julia Mae McGrady

Julia Mae McGrady passed away on Tuesday, October 19 ,2021. Julia was the daughter of the late Isaac C. and Beulah M. Smith. She was born on July 3, 1957. She was a devoted wife, mother and sister who was always ready with both a sympathetic ear and smile. She brought joy with her goofy sense of humor that never failed to pull a grin. Julia continually showed her immense capacity for compassion to all she encountered, especially animals in need of love. She was a bright light that the entire family could rally around and will be dearly missed. Julia was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by two sons, Jamie Grey McGrady and his wife Missy, Shane Michael McGrady and his partner Melissa Houchins. She is also survived by one daughter, Selena Jewel McGrady and her husband of 42 years, Larry Grey McGrady. She is survived also by her two sisters, Betty Hall and spouse Kenneth Hall and Trecia Hensley as well as one brother James C. Smith. FURBABIES Julia joins her furbaby Monkey Bear in heaven. Furchildren Daisy, Bug, and Jasmine survive her as well as her grandpups Shiva, Graham, and Moe. A private graveside service will be conducted at 11 AM, Thursday, October 21, 2021, at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Wytheville, Va. Pastor Kenneth Hall will be officiating.
