Such sad news. Hard to find the words. When I moved to Virginia in 1995, Phyl, knowing that I came from Delmarva where he had worked, mentored me in understanding a different kind of agriculture. Whatever success I had in my 20 year career in Western Virginia, I owe in part to him. He was a wonderful friend. And he will be missed.

It was an honor to know Phyl. The example he set in kindness and faith in God will be remembered. He lived a life helping others, and his example will not be forgotten. In this time of sadness we pray you find courage to move forward, and wisdom that love endures. Thinking of the family during this loss and sending prayers for comfort.

As we go through life there are people that you just get used to being around and you can't imagine them not being around. To me Phil definitely is one of those people. Phil devoted so much of his life to trying to make other peoples lives better. Phil helped so many farmers in the community to raise the best crops that this land we farm would allow. Brad its gonna be tough but you had the best teacher and he was proud of what you've done.I also want to send my sympathy to Pat and all of the employees of S&W. I know I speak for my whole family when I say that Phil was a humble, great friend and he will dearly be missed. God bless you all!
