Obituary of Flora Mae Thomas

Flora Mae Thomas age 85, of Wytheville in the Piney Community, passed away on Saturday, February 5, 2022. She was born in Wythe County on February 5, 1937 to the late Otis and Virginia Akers Harmon. Survivors include her two daughters and son-in-law, Kathy and Ronnie Hudson of Piney; Lynn Sheets of Wytheville; three sons, Charles Simmons and Patrick Simmons both of Piney and Michael Simmons of Rural Retreat; five grandchildren, Kimberly Clutter, Cody Sheets, Kelsey Simmons, Grayson Simmons and Mattie Simmons; two great grandchildren, Kirsten and Braxton Clutter; sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and Leon Freeman of Austinville; brother and sister-in-law, David and Barbara Harmon of Fries; and her special caregiver, Penny Arnold and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 7 P.M. Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at the Liberty Hill Pentecostal Holiness Church with Reverend Josh Graham officiating. Interment will be 11 A.M. Wednesday in the Mt Zion Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 5 P.M. until the time of the service at the Church.
