Obituary of James Arthur Coleman

James Arthur Coleman, 83, of Fort Chiswell VA went to his Heavenly home on February 21, 2022. He was the son of Julian Arthur and Leona Lewis Coleman of Wythe County. Preceded in death are two brothers Clinton Coleman and Ralph Coleman. James worked at Pulaski Furniture Corporation for 43 years until he retired 22 years ago. James is survived by his wife of 62 years, Juanita H Coleman. His children are Patty C and Eddie Viars of Fort Chiswell., Dana Coleman of the home, and Brad and Kelly Coleman of Huntersville, NC. James had 5 grandchildren, Sheena V and Richard Chaffin of Fort Chiswell, Kendra Viars of Jonesboro TN, Grey Coleman, Reed Coleman and Zane Coleman of Huntersville, NC and one great granddaughter, McKenna Chaffin. James’ best friend and companion was George Arthur Coleman (family pet) of the home. Also surviving family are siblings, Franklin Coleman of Austinville, Janet Aker and John (Lucian) of Draper, Nancy Coleman of Radford, Leonard and Jane Coleman of Austinville, Ronnie and Karen Coleman of Piney and David and Audrey Coleman of Piney. James loved his family, his pinto beans, and ice cream. He walked more miles in his lifetime than all their vehicles combined. He loved God above all else. James enjoyed being retired and mowing his lawn with his John Deere mowers. He was the best husband, dad, PaPa a family could ever be blessed to have. Arrangements are being handled by Grubb Funeral Home. Viewing and funeral will be Friday, February 25, 2022 from 5:00 – 7:00 for the viewing and 7:00 for the funeral at Liberty Hill PHC in Piney area. No graveside service per James’ request.
