Obituary of Lee Roy Dunford
Lee Roy Dunford age 83 of Wytheville, passed on to be with the Lord at Johnston Willis Hospital in Richmond, VA on Monday, March 7, 2022.
Lee Roy was retired from the Radford Army Ammunition Plant in Radford, VA. Lee Roy had a great passion for Bluegrass and Bluegrass Gospel Music.
Lee Roy was born in Wythe County to the late James Sterlin and Bertha Dean Dunford. The oldest of ten children, Lee Roy is also preceded in death by his brother Kenneth Dunford; four sisters, Mildred Edwards, Wanda Smith, Janice Rodgers and Minnie Freeman. Survivors include his loving wife of 60 years, Minnie “Mickey” Dunford; son and daughter-in-law, Delbert and Glenda Dunford; daughter and son-in-law, Alice and David Shinault; daughter, Treasa Dunford Shinault and son-in-law, Clayton Shinault; four brothers, James Buford Dunford, Gary Dunford; Thomas Albert Dunford all of Wytheville and Ronnie Dunford of Archdale, NC; two grandchildren, Alicia and husband Eric Brinegar and Tonya Chrisley; four great grandchildren, Nicolai and Dominic Brinegar; Kelsey Dunford and Elijah Chrisley; many nieces and nephews; three step grandchildren, Cathy, Missy and Roger and families.
Funeral service will be held 2 P.M. on Friday March 11, 2022 at the Grubb Funeral Home with the Reverend Doug Stuart officiating. Interment will follow in the Rosenbaum Chapel Cemetery.
