Obituary of Patsy Marie Pugh Tolley

Patsy Marie Pugh Tolley, 84, of Rural Retreat, Virginia, passed away Monday, March 7, 2022, at her home surrounded by loved ones. She was born in Wythe County to the late Carl and Jessie Pugh. She is preceded in death by her husband Carl, daughter Bobbi Crouse, brothers C.J., Dallas, Randall and Roger Pugh and sisters Loretta Umberger and Faye Sawyers, Survivors include her son, Dean and wife Gayle Tolley of Rural Retreat, and daughters, Lisa and husband Tim Alderman of Wytheville and Catherine (Beth) Reffitt of Seven Mile Ford. She is also survived by sister Nancy Hurst of Wytheville, sister Marlene and husband Bryan Warner of North Carolina, brother Jimmy Pugh of Wytheville, many grandchildren and great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and friends in the community. Pat was a loved mother, grandmother and sister, a talented homemaker, an excellent and appreciated cook with a passion for gardening and canning. Pat was a recognized and gifted artist in needlework, quilt design and quilt making. The family gives special thanks to Kindred Hospice Services and their team. Graveside services will be held at Mt. Mitchell United Methodist Church on Saturday, March 19th at 2:00 PM. Pastor Jonathan Hamman and Pastor Todd Porter will conduct services.
