James Walter “J.W.” Midkiff age 87, of Wytheville, passed away on Sunday May 8, 2022. He was born on April 7, 1935 to the late George Dewey and Dora Lillian Gallimore Midkiff. J.W. was retired from VDOT. He was preceded by a sister, Pauline Midkiff and brother, Doug Midkiff.

Survivors include his wife Patty Wohlford Midkiff of Wytheville; daughter, Lyndsay Hyatt of Wytheville; granddaughter, Maddie Hyatt of Wytheville; sister, Mary Midkiff of Wytheville.

Graveside service will be held 11 A.M. on Thursday, May 12, 2022 at the West End Cemetery with Reverend N.R. Taylor officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday from 10 to 10:45 A.M. at the Grubb Funeral Home.
