Obituary of Jean Walters Cassell

Jean Walters Cassell age 90, of Wytheville, passed away on Monday, May 9, 2022. She was born on September 11, 1931 to the late Pierce O. and Georgianna Umberger Walters. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph “Teddy Bear” Cassell, three brothers and sisters-in-law, Charles and Mary Walters, Elbert Ray and Genevieve Walters and Warren and Marie Walters. She was member of the Stage Road Chapel. Jean was a lady of faith and a Mother to all. Survivors include a host of extended family and friends. Funeral service will be held 2 P.M. Thursday, May 12, 2022 at the Grubb Funeral Home with the Reverend Richard Lindamood officiating. Entombment will follow in the West End Cemetery Mausoleum. Per Jean’s request there will be no visitation. Flowers would be appreciated but those who wish to do can make donations to the Wytheville Lions Club or Stage Road Chapel Building Fund.
