Obituary of Worley Clayton Crigger

Worley Clayton “Chubby” Crigger age 84, of Wytheville, passed away on Tuesday June 21, 2022. He was born on May 5, 1938 in Wythe County to the late Krenning and Aldia Vivian Shelton Crigger. He was preceded in death by his five brothers, Robert, Franklin, Roy, Randy and Ellis “Sqeak” Crigger; three sisters, Dolly Sylvester, Shirley Harden and an infant sister, Kathleen Crigger. Chubby was retired from Amsco and enjoyed fishing, gardening, and picking Blackberries. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Norma Jean Malone Crigger of Wytheville; two daughters and son-in-law, Janice and Butch Wright of Wytheville; Mary Diane Eads of Dublin; son and daughter-in-law, Sammy and Deborah Crigger of Wytheville; five grandchildren, Chris, Jessica, Matthew, Morgan and Josh; great grandchild, Isaac; and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 11 A.M. on Friday, June 24, 2022 at the New Bethel Methodist Church Cemetery with Pastor Todd Porter officiating. There will be no visitation.
