Obituary of Virgil Lawrence Manuel, Sr.

Virgil Lawrence Manuel, Sr., age 91, of Graham N.C. formally of Wythe County, died Tuesday, November 22, 2016. He was the son of the late Preston & Hazel Arnold Manuel and a United States Navy Veteran. Virgil was preceded in death by his wife, Mary White Manuel; sisters, Frances Milgrim, Mary Gallimore, Dean Eversole; brothers, Joe Manuel, Roy Manuel, James Manuel and Charles Manuel. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Carlene & Tommy Yoe of Granite Quarry N.C.; sons and daughters-in-law, Virgil L. Jr. & Connie Manuel, S. Michael & Joyce Manuel, Jeffrey M. & Tina Manuel all of Graham, N.C.; sister, Opal Aker of Max Meadows, Betty Wright of Winston Salem, N.C.; 12 Grandchildren and 14 Great Grandchildren also survive. Funeral service will be held at 2 P.M. Monday, November 28, 2016 at Grubb Funeral Home Chapel conducted by The Reverend J.C. McPeak with interment to follow in the West End Cemetery. The American Legion Post # 9 will conduct Military graveside rites. The family will receive friends Monday from 12 noon until service time. Grubb Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
