Obituary of Evelyn Lucille Grubb Kincer
Today we remember and celebrate the life of Evelyn Lucille Grubb Kincer age 74, of Wytheville, as she entered into the gates of the Lord’s heavenly Kingdom on Sunday, December 4, 2022.
Evelyn was born on April 18, 1948 and was sixth of ten children. She married Wayne Lee Kincer in 1964 and they had four children together, Melissa Ann Kincer Slusher, Johnny Dewayne Kincer (Bridget); Mark Allen Kincer (Ann), and Shannon Lee Kincer (Christi).
Evelyn was the spunky and beloved grandmother to Richard Alexander Slusher (Kellee); Mackenzie Ty Kincer Deane (Jacob); Jenna Danielle Slusher, Jesse Dakota Kincer, Brianna Irene Kincer, Benjamin Walker Kincer, Mark Allen Kincer, Jr.; Savana Winter Kincer, and Gray Allen Kincer. She had two special honorary grandchildren, Gvantsa Mosiashvili and Sebastian Rain Smith.
Evelyn was a hard worker all her life but enjoyed spending shenanigan Saturdays with her sisters shopping and playing games, going out to lunch, and laughing. Her Sundays were spent having family dinner with her children and grandchildren at her home. Evelyn loved spending time with her family, talking on the phone with her friends, riding the golf cart, working puzzles, and sitting on the porch swing.
She was never at a loss for words and could be witty at the drop of a hat. She loved a good joke and her laugh was infectious which she passed down to all her children and grandchildren.
Along with her family, Evelyn will be greatly missed by her siblings, Mary Sue Tomey, Alice Underwood, Barbara Littreal (Steve), Virgie Kincer, Linda Liddle (Joe), Jackie Krug (Bob), Shelia Grubb, Ricky Grubb, sister-in-law, Joyce Grubb, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Awaiting her joyful home coming in heaven are those preceded in death by her mother Eula Bralley Grubb and father James W. “Tonny” Grubb, and big brother J.W. Grubb.
Evelyn’s sweet and blessed life will be kept alive with memories and stories for generations to come, as her family will never forget the love she generously showered on them.
