Obituary of Linda Coulter Moore

Linda Coulter Moore, age 51, of Independence, Virginia passed away on Thursday evening, January 26,2023. She is the daughter of Magdalena (Maggie) Wilkerson and Larry Coulter. She is survived by her husband Edmund W. (Buddy) Moore III; brother David Coulter; niece Rachel Coulter; and Great Nephew Jeremiah Coulter. She was preceded in death by her Grandmother Gladys Coulter. Linda most recently served as the Youth Services Coordinator at the Wythe County Library. She attended Webster University School of Musical Theatre in St. Louis, Missouri. After attending Webster University, she moved to New York City and landed her first roles with Seaside Music Theatre in Daytona Beach, Florida. She had parts in Evita, Anything Goes, A Christmas Carol, The Merry Widow, The Emperor’s New Clothes, and a leading role as Shelby in Steele Magnolias. After, she moved to Nashville and had several roles at the Cumberland County Playhouse culminating with the lead role of Ariel in Shakespeare’s the Tempest. She went on to work at the Tennessee Repertory Theatre in Wardrobe and Costumes. Afterwards, started Encore Theatric Costume Shop in Nashville with her mother Maggie. They closed their business after the tragedy of 9/11 to work for Animax Designs in Nashville. She also served asthe Costume Shop Manager at the Nashville Ballet for 5 years. A Memorial Service to celebrate Linda’s life will be held at the Grubb Funeral Home on Saturday February 4th, 2023. Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. The Memorial Service will begin at 1:00 pm. Immediately following the Memorial Service, a Celebration of Life Reception will be held at the Wythe County Library at 300 E Monroe St., Wytheville, VA. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Friends of the Wythe County Library in memory of Linda Coulter Moore. Donations will support children’s activities at the Wythe County Library.
