Obituary of Zelda Ingo Felts

Zelda Ingo Felts, age 83, of Max Meadows, VA passed away Saturday, March 4, 2023at home after an extended illness. Her family was blessed to be able to care for her and savor the time they had with her. She was born in Wythe County in 1939 to the parents of J. Frank and Zola Akers Ingo of the Piney Community, who precede her in death. She is also preceded in death by her sisters Evelyn Ingo and Kathleen Ingo and her brothers and spouses Elmo and Marilee Corinette Ingo and Gussie and Colleen Fisher Ingo. Zelda was known for her love of family, her generous & kind heart, infectious laugh and mischievous wit. She loved to laugh and to make others laugh. She loved music and loved to listen to gospel music. She played music and sang in her younger years with her musically inclined family. Her favorite charity was St. Jude’s and was a faithful supporter for many years. Survivors include her spouse of 63 years, Eldridge Felts; children, Jamie Felts, Tara Felts Dowdy and spouse Michael; Grandchildren Haley Felts, Trevor Dowdy and fiancée Alexa Price, Julie Dowdy Stone and spouse Justin; Brother-in-law and spouse Larry and Charlotte Felts, Sister-in- law Sherlene Felts Akers; special kitty-Bella. She also leaves a host of nieces and nephews and friends. The family would like to thank Kylie Stoots for her help and assistance in her care and Wythe Hospice of Southwest Virginia. The office staff along with David were so kind and supportive and her nurses Vickie and Miranda went above and beyond to assist the family in her care. Funeral services will be held 2 P.M. Sunday, March 12, 2023, at Grubb Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Pastor Bobby Lewis and Pastor Jeff Pickett, with interment to follow in the Mt. Zion Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 1 P.M. until service time.
