Obituary of William Llyod Wertz

William Llyod Wertz, Jr. (Bill Wertz) was born on October 5, 1965, in Johnstown, PA. He passed away April 17, 2023, at the age of 57, in his home in Wytheville, VA. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Emma and Charles Harbaugh and Ezel and Walter Hughes, aunt, Karen Harbaugh. He is survived by his parents William Lloyd Wertz, SR, and Mary Virginia Wertz; sisters and brothers-in-law, Kimberly and John Lail, Rebecca and Steve Raymond and son Lelynd, Chris and Andrew; nieces and their children, Kessa Kress and son, Skylar; Courtney Merril and daughters, Emma and Alaina; Lindsey and Husband Hector Castro; girlfriend, Darlene Stoots, ex-wife Jennifer Wertz Sayers; children, Vanessa Wertz, Josh Wertz, Zach Wertz and Heather and husband Anthony Chrisley; grandchildren, Tabitha, Kaylynn, Danielle, Elizabeth, Bailey, Max and great grandson Owynn. He was loved by family and many friends. He loved being an EMT and Firefighter but most of all helping people. He was the kind of person who would give you the shirt off his back. A memorial will be held at Carter’s Park on Saturday, May 20, 2023, from 2 P.M. until 6 P.M. per his family wishes. Obituary is a courtesy of Grubb Funeral Home.
