James Burton “Jim” Wolford, age 68, of Wytheville, passed away Friday, December 23, 2016. He was the son of the late Walker L. Wolford and a member of Galilee Christian Church. Jim was a well-known auctioneer and a member of the Virginia Sheep Breeders Association. He is survived by his mother, Hazel Smelser Wolford of Wytheville; sister and brother-in-law, Patricia Ann & Richard Puckett of Bristol, VA; brothers and sisters-in-law, Danny & Joyce Wolford, Robert & Leslie Wolford all of Wytheville; nieces and nephews, Heath & Terrie Wolford, Jeremy Wolford, Jessica & Anthony Nolan, Carrie Lynne Wolford; several great nieces & great nephews also survive.

Funeral service will be held 3 PM Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at Grubb Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by The Reverend Preston Sartelle and The Reverend Tommy Addison with interment to follow in the Galilee Christian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 1PM until service time or at the home, 1005 Grayson Rd. Wytheville, VA 24382 at any time. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the Galilee Christian Church Cemetery Fund, C/O Doris Daugherty, 865 N. 20th St., Wytheville, VA 24382.
