Obituary of Greta Trivitt Grubb

Greta “G-G” Trivitt Grubb, age 55, passed away on Monday, April 24, 2023.She was born on June 20th, 1967 in Wytheville, VA. She was a graduate of Clinch Valley College of the University Virginia in 1990 where she also played on the women’s basketball team. Greta was employed by Appalachian Power for over 27 years. She loved playing golf with her friends and always kept up with college sports. She was a proud Virgina Tech Hokie fan. Greta always took time to enjoy the little things in life, fishing, hunting, and taking rides in her jeep. Some of her favorite places to be were on the New River, Claytor Lake, The Cove at “Her Oak Tree”, Lane Stadium, The Wytheville Country Club, and Big Walker Towers. Most importantly she was a wonderful dedicated mother who loved her children more than anything. She was preceded in death by her mother, Joyce Jones Trivitt and father, James Trivitt; grandparents, Elmer and Lura Trivitt, and Ellis “Blackeye” and Stella Jones. She is survived by her son, Kenneth Tyler Blaine Grubb and wife Angel of Rural Retreat, VA; her daughter, Kenna Taylor Henderson and husband Logan of Saltville, VA; her granddaughter, Presley Kate Grubb; sister, Kathy T. Vaught of Rural Retreat, VA; niece, Michelle McFarlane and husband Chad of Rural Retreat, VA; great nieces, Taylor and Ryleigh; great nephew, Gage; sister-in-law, Dana Woods and husband Chuck of Wytheville, VA; special brother, Jeremy Shelton of Wytheville, VA; special companion Onyx; a very special circle of close friends; several aunts, uncles, and cousins also survive. A visitation will be held on Friday, Apr 28, 2023 at Grubb Funeral Home in Wytheville, VA from 5 until 7 p.m. Following her wishes, her remains will be spread at some of her favorite places.
