Obituary of Billy G. Marshall

Billy G. Marshall, age 87, passed away at his home in Wytheville on Monday, May 15, 2023. He was born in Wise County, VA on February 22, 1936, to the late Clifford and Lila Lawson Marshall. He retired from VDOT as Assistant Resident Engineer for Wythe and Grayson Counties. Billy was preceded in death by six brothers and sisters. He is survived by two daughters, Deborah (Debbie) Moody and John of Crockett and Renita Dean of Pulaski. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Kelly Moody Woods and Harvey of Wytheville, Andrew Moody and Kelsey of Oak Grove, Missouri, Robert Moody and Maggie of Columbus, Ohio, and Amanda Dean of Pulaski. Six great grandchildren also survive, Cannon Woods, Aiden Moody, Raine Rigby, Royal Rigby, William Moody and Jackson Moody. Other survivors include a brother, Lowell Marshall of Nickelsville, VA and a sister, Wana Henry of Church Hill, TN. Several nieces, great nieces, nephews, and great nephews also survive. Funeral services will be held 2 P.M Saturday, May 20, 2023, at Grubb Funeral Home, with the Reverend Jerry Bell officiating. The family will receive friends from 12 noon until service time. Burial will follow on the Moody family Cemetery. The family would like to thank the nurses and therapists at Valley Ridge Home Health and Good Samaritan Hospice for the loving care they provided.
