Obituary of Derl Randall Cormany

Derl Randall Cormany, age 91, of Wytheville, passed away Friday, September 29, 2023. He was born January 15, 1932, to the late Earl “Doc” and Louise Hilton Cormany and was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Mary Ellen Burchett Cormany and sister Chole Ann White. Derl was a United States Army Veteran and retired as a longtime car salesman for Direct Dodge. He was a longtime member of the Galilee Christian Church and the Wytheville Lions Club and was an avid sports fan. He especially loved following the Radford Bobcats Basketball team. Derl is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Sandra Gayle and Steve Kline of Wytheville; son and daughter-in-law, Rick and Erika Cormany of Radford; grandchildren, Derrick Kline, Rhodes Kline, Keeleigh Cormany, Cam Cormany, Gavin Cormany; sister, Nelda Umberger of Daleville; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral service will be held 12 noon Friday, October 6, 2023, at Grubb Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Pastor Timothy Worles, with interment to follow in the Galilee Christian Church Cemetery. The American Legion Post #9 will conduct Military graveside rites. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home Friday from 11 A.M. until service time.
