Obituary of Velma Kaye Hatfield

Velma Kaye Hatfield, age 72, of Max Meadows, VA peacefully passed away August 9, 2024. Velma was born on August 8, 1952 in Pineville, WV, she was the daughter of late John Hatfield Jr. and Mabel Allen. Velma graduated from Baileysville high school and was a successful business owner and cosmetologist who was very active in her community, giving back every way she could. She was a God-fearing woman who let her light shine to everyone around her; she was extremely faithful to the lord, her church, and community. Above all she cherished spending time with her loving family. In addition to her parents, she was proceeded in death by her son Jaron Cody Webb, her brother Johnny Ray Hatfield, and sister-in-law Tonda Hatfield. Those survivors left to cherish her memory include her beautiful daughter Whitney Webb and significant other Devin Smith and their two daughters, Lyla and Roslyn of Wytheville, VA. And Whitney’s father, Danny Earl Webb; A loving sister, Carolyn Melton and husband Robert Melton of Max Meadows VA, brother Jackie Hatfield Sr. and wife Debbie Hatfield of Welch, WV, brother Joey Hatfield and Brenda Meredith of Max Meadows VA, and brother Shawn Allen and wife Lauren Allen of Max Meadows, VA. along with 17 nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her special friend Jerry Mullis of Sparta, NC. In honoring Velma’s wishes, there will be no services at this time.
