Obituary of Arlin James Parsons
Arlin James “Arlie” Parsons, age 80, of Wytheville, passed away Wednesday, November 8, 2017. He was born in Lincoln County, WV the son of the late Oliver and Vercie Triplett Parsons. Mr. Parsons was a United States Air Force Veteran, a member of the Wytheville Church of Christ, an avid golfer and outdoorsman. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Alfred E. Parsons Harold D. Parsons, and is survived by his wife of 55 years, Christine R. Parsons of Wytheville; daughters and spouses, Tamara Suthers and Daniel of Wytheville, Sharon Ponton and John of West Springfield, VA, Trina Leedy and John of Crockett, Ramona Copenhaver and Jason of Max Meadows; sisters and spouses, Freda Harmon of Cincinnati, OH, Ardith Parsons of Cincinnati, OH, Floyd Parsons of Sandy Hook, KY, Wilma McComas and Kyle of Barboursville, WV, Linda Johnson and Gary, Hurricane, WV; grandchildren and spouses, Kristin Suthers Mills and Jeff of Mt. Airy NC, Kevin Suthers and Tara of Wytheville, Kenneth Suthers and Saskia of Neustadt, Germany, John Ponton, Jr. of West Springfield, VA, Robert Ponton of West Springfield, VA, Emily Copenhaver of Max Meadows, Blake Copenhaver of Max Meadows, Ella Copenhaver of Max Meadows; great grandchildren, Elsa Mills of Mt. Airy, NC, Luke Suthers, Wytheville; several nieces and nephews also survive
Funeral service will be held 3 P.M. Sunday, November 12, 2017 at Grubb Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Pastor Eddie Braddy with interment to follow in the West End Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 1 P.M. until service time.
